Ed McMahon, the King of Pop ular Late Night Television show Tonight Show with Johnny Carson has died at his Santa Barbara home. The home, nicknamed Neverland Ranch by the countless child visitors that Ed had stay with him was a virtual playground for the pre-pubescent boys, having a full carnival ride amusement park, a twenty-one horse stable where the kids could frolic with horses before coming to the main ranch to play hide and seek with Ed dressed as a clown. The boys could look forward to cookies, Nick at Night and Ed's big bed to complete the sleepover.
Once the King of Late Night, chairing the side-kick seat opposite Johnny Carson, Ed had fallen into financial problems during the latter years of his life. No longer able to fend off creditors looking to foreclose on the expensive Neverland Ranch, Ed was forced to do tacky Gold4Less commercials and sell the rights to the Beatles song catalogue, a move that frustrates Paul McCartney to this day.
The occasional "Hey-oooohhhhh," and "Heeeere's Johnny..." penetrate the silent crowd of mourners gathered outside Tonight Show studios in beautiful downtown Burbank. Beloved for his funky dance moves where he appeared to defy gravity, a vigil has been set up around a Publisher's Clearinghouse envelope with Ed's smiling face printed across the front. Investigation is underway to find the cause of death in this case. SoCoolAZ.com has confirmed that McMahon had suffered exhaustion in preparation for his fifty-five date come-back comic appearance at London's O2 Arena.
